Now that classes are back in session at UC Berkeley, the town’s business district almost looks, well, normal!
Restaurants and other businesses have seen a huge increase in customers since classes resumed. One student said “It feels like Berkeley again!”. Telegraph Avenue leading up to campus is starting to get its old buzz back.
The owner of I.B.’s sandwich shop near campus has seen a steady increase in business over the last couple of weeks. Nearby, Cornerstone, a restaurant and live music venue, has seen business triple because of the return of the students, and their calendar is full through November.
