You’d think that houses in the path of Tahoe’s Calder Fire would reduce in value. Not so fast.
Recently a property in the area sold for over $684,500, that’s $35,000 over its asking price, even though it was in the path of the wildfire. The agent for the buyers suggested that they put off the transaction, even at the risk of losing their deposit. The buyers forged ahead anyway, then the path of the fire shifted.
