If you have an older car, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District might want to buy it from you.
They’re offering cash to get older, most polluting cars off of the road, to the tune of $1,200! They’re looking for older vans and small trucks too. Taking an older, polluting vehicle off of the road can eliminate about 75 pounds of airborne pollution every year.
Eligible cars have to be model year 1997 or older, in working condition, and have been registered in California for at least the last two years.
