We've got a MAJOR backup in the Bay Area this morning (Friday). An accident involving an AC Transit bus and four cars on the Bay Bridge had the three right lanes blocked around 5am. Emergency crews have been able to reopen two of those lanes so as of 6:30am, the right lane is the only blocked lane. The accident is just before the island.

The backup is to the foot of the maze and beyond. CalTrans is suggesting you use the Richmond San Rafael Bridge or the San Mateo Bridge as alternate routes.
