Wouldn’t it be great if ONE charger was compatible with all phones and electronic devices? Well, the European Union feels that way!
Last week the EU announced plans that would require the smartphone industry to make charging cords compatible with all devices. This will come as a relief to millions of people who regularly search through junk drawers filled with tangled chargers for one that’s compatible with their device. We all have at least three chargers but only use two on a regular basis.
The EU also wants to cut down on the 11 thousand tons of electronic waste tossed out every year.
It’s not known whether the US will adopt similar standards.
