The US Postal Service begins its new delivery schedule tomorrow.
Earlier this month the Post Office said it would increase delivery times to increase reliability and cut costs. Delivery times will increase for 39% of all first-class mail, and 93% of periodicals like magazines.
About 61% of all first class mail will stay at the current delivery standard, and 70% will arrive in three days or less.
The slower delivery times will let the Postal Service shift from air transportation, and carry more mail via ground transportation, thus saving money.
