The Caldor Fire Is Changing Lake Tahoe's Clarity.

The effect of the Caldor fire on Lake Tahoe is becoming more clear, and not in a good way.

The smoke and ash that’s fallen into the lake will remain for a long time, even though the skies will gradually clear. The extra ash will block the sunlight. Sunlight keeps algae in check. so, without the ultraviolet light from the sunshine, the algae in the lake will grow uncontrolled, clouding the lake.

Smoke and ash in water running into the lake will also be a problem.

Jack & Carolyn talked about this on the Morning Breeze. Listen here:
