There is a major traffic alert Friday morning in the Bay Area.
A big rig carrying cars overturned 101 Southbound in Novato at DeLong around 1am and is blocking ALL lanes in the Southbound direction. When the rig overturned, the cars on the carrier spilled into the Northbound lanes blocking all lanes in that direction. Essentially the freeway is closed in BOTH directions at DeLong as of 6:10am Friday morning.
Alternate routes in the Southbound direction: Take the Atherton exit and take Redwood to Rowland. In the Northbound direction, take 37 to Atherton to 101.
We will update you as details become available.
