A driver was surprised while he was driving on 101 in Sunnyvale

“We heard a boom, like a shot–like a gunshot," said the driver, Vladimir Dubrovsky.

That boom was actually a golf ball flying towards his car, but he didn't know that until he was able to look at his dashcam which caught the entire incident on video.

A golf ball was falling out of the sky onto Highway 101 and hit the hood of Dubrovsky's car.

"We got a little bit scared at the moment," he said.

Dubrovsky was driving with his wife from San Francisco to Milpitas when the incident happened.

When they finally got home they saw the dent in their car and watched the dashcam video.

“When I got home I opened Google Maps and saw that there was a golf course next to the freeway in that area," Dubrovsky told KRON4.

The Sunnyvale Golf Course is right next to the highway, and he says he contacted the golf course about the incident.

“They responded and sent me a simple form and advised me to submit a claim to Sunnyvale city," he said.
