Why are store shelves so bare? Blame it on COVID, of course
With so many grocery store employees out sick, retailers are finding it difficult to keep store shelves stocked. Most stores are operating with less than their normal workforce. The National Grocers Association claim tha stores are trying to keep pace despite having less than 50% of their normal workforce.
Adding to the problem are staff shortages among the workforce that transport the goods to the stores.
Everyday items like milk, bread, meat, canned goods and cleaning supplies are the hardest hit.
