Bay Area shoppers have been shopping at the Shops at Tanforan for years. Even if you have never shopped there, you've certainly heard of the center. But the Shopes at Tanforan will soon be no longer.
Once complete, the new office space will bring in a slew of high-paying new jobs, which is a big win for both the City of San Bruno and the county as well.
Not only are shoppers sad about the mall closing their doors, but they are concerned about all of the jobs that will be lost as well, a legitimate concern.
Long before becoming a mall, the spot served as an internment camp for Japanese Americans during World War II.
