Clean Up The Lake is a nonprofit with the mission of cleaning up the Lake Tahoe shoreline every year. Once they finish, they start all over again.
This year they collected more than 25,000 pounds of trash. They collected thousands of aluminum cans, hundreds of golf and tennis balls, and more than a hundred anchors.
Some of the more unusual items the found include a Walkman with a Tower of Power tape inside, a 1980s vintage Nikon film camera, and some vinyl records.
Cleanup The Lake is also planning on cleaning up the rim of Donner Lake, Fallen Leaf Lake, and expand to Mammoth Lakes this month.
