Bay Area music icon Carlos Santana collapsed during his performance near Detroit last night. The 74 year old has been touring with Earth Wind & Fire, and was in the middle of a set when he fell on stage. Medical workers attended to him, and he was eventually carried off stage & taken to an emergency room.
He spent some time under observation where doctors declared that he was doing well. His collapse was blamed on heat exhaustion and dehydration.
A show that was scheduled tonight in Pennsylvania has been postponed until further notice. He played the Shoreline & Concord Pavillion last month, and has 21 more dates left in his current tour before he heads back to Las Vegas for his residency at the House of Blues.
