An Oxford professor has discovered a way to make your food taste better.

Eat with your mouth open!

Charles Spence’s research has shown that eating with your mouth open actually enhances the way it tastes in your mouth, thus improving the eating experience.

Chewing with your mouth open permits the “aromatic characteristics” of your food to reach the back of your nose. The more you “smell” the food in your mouth, the better it tastes.

Of course we all learned at an early age NOT to chew with your mouth open.
