Fleetwood Mac band member Christine McVie passed away yesterday after a very short illness. The announcement of her death was a surprise to even her bandmates. Stevie Nicks found out on Saturday night that Christine was sick and wanted to fly out to see her and to same to her one last time but was told not to come. She thought she would still have time to see her friend again, but then got the news yesterday that Christine had passed.
Christine McVie joined Fleetwood Mac. a few years after the band was established, eventually marrying John McVie. She and Stevie became very best friends and remained that way for all of those years.
She wrote half of the songs on the Rumors album and half of the songs on the Greatest Hits album. Christine left the band in 2008 due to her fear of flying. She rejoined in 2014 but she had excruciating back pain and had to stand for all of her performances while playing the piano.
