This is shaping up to be the second snowiest season ever in the Sierra. Since December 56.4 feet of snow have fallen in the mountains……so far. The snowiest on record goes back to 1952 when over 67 feet of snow fell.
Some of the Tahoe ski resorts had to close this season because there was too much snow. But many of the slopes will stay open later.
Heavenly Mountain Resort will stay open through Sunday, May 7.
Northstar California Resort will stay open until April 30.
Kirkwood will stay open until May 14.
Palisades will stay open through May 29, and Sugar Bowl plans to stay open until April 23.
