Today marks the 50 anniversary of the premier of “The Young And the Restless”.
The soap debuted in 1973 as a thirty minute show on CBS, and expanded to an hour in 1980. The winner of 11 Daytime Emmys, it was just renewed by CBS through 2024.
Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Wayne Gretzky, Il Divo, Enrique Iglesias, and many others have made appearances on TYATR. Eva Longoria, David Hasselhoff, and Tom Selleck got their show biz starts on the show.
