It turns out that you don’t need to take 10,000 steps a day to reap the health benefits.
Some new research has shown that taking just 8,000 steps, about 4 miles, a couple of times a week can greatly improve your lifespan and quality of life. The research involved over 3,000 people who tracked their steps for one week, along with lifespan data for at least 10 years.
The results showed that the participants who took those steps just one or two days a week were 15% less likely to die within 10 years.
