A bottle of wine purchased over fifty years ago turned out to be a pretty good investment
At the suggestion of a friend, Mark Paulson bought a bottle Domaine de la Romanée-Conti La Tâche back in 1971 for $250. Back then it was considered one of the most prized wines in the world, and comes from the Burgundy region of France . Paulson, a 72 year-old retired painter, recently found the bottle in his basement, unopened.
After doing some research, Paulson found that the value of the wine has exceeded what he originally paid for it.. by a lot! He’ll be auctioning it off for between $50,000 and $80,000!
Paulson said “It’s just been sitting downstairs in my basement for all these years. Never really thought that much about it.”
