Total spending for Father's Day is expected to be more than last year - up 2.9 billion and totaling near 22.9 billion dollars.
The National Retail Federation says consumers will spend an average of $196 this year on dads.
By comparison, US consumers spent $35.7 billion on mom last month for Mother's Day.
