It’s not your traditional party place, but it’s perfect for 5-year-old Sarah Lopez’s birthday party.
The Grocery Outlet in the Rosemont area of Sacramento County hosted Lopez’s birthday after her mother reached out to the store on Facebook.
“The very first place she went after Covid lockdown lifted was Grocery Outlet,” said Kayla Lopez, Sarah’s mother. “After that we've been every other day, so she can see her friends here. The staff have stickers and goodies for her. This is her favorite place outside of school and home.”
The store owner and staff provided balloons, goodie bags and all the trappings of a kid birthday – complete with birthday cards from the community.
