An unopened Cadbury Creme Egg has somehow become a family heirloom in Ireland.
53-year-old Ainslie Peters says the egg bought as a gift to her grandmother, Jean, during her first date with husband Dan Peters in 1973.
“I can’t quite believe that the egg has survived this long and now reached the ripe old age of 50,” Peters told the Scottish newspaper the Courier. “But it’s been cherished, first by my gran and now by me, so who knows how long it will last?”
She says when her grandmother passed away in 2010 it was the only thing she wanted.
