Brighter Side: Bay Area Student Lands Job at Google After College Rejection

18-year-old Stanley Zhong from Palo Alto is making national news, after word began to spread that he had been rejected by 16 of the 18 colleges he applied to.

Stanley tells ABC7 News that has 4.42 weighted GPA, 1590 out of 1600 on the SATs but was rejected by MIT, Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, UCSB, UC Davis, Cal Poly SLO, Cornell, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, Georgia Tech, Caltech, University of Wisconsin and University of Washington.

He was only admitted to the University of Texas and Maryland.

Months after those rejection letters, Stanley got some good news when he landed a Level 4, non-entry level software engineering job at Google.
