If you're a sports fan, this probably is not secret to you: having a favorite team can be stressfull.

According to a new study from The Grueling Truth, some of the states with residents that stress the most are ones that don't even have a professional sports team.

With the exception of Louisiana (NBA & NFL teams) and Utah (NBA & MLS teams), most of the top 5 stressed out sports states don't even have a professional team.

The study looked at stress levels from sports fans when crucial games or matches were taking place - while doing other things, including family events, works projects, exams and meetings.

Here's the list:

  1. Idaho: 7.5 out of 10
  2. Louisiana: 7.0 out of 10
  3. Utah: 7.0 out of 10
  4. West Virginia: 7.0 out of 10
  5. Maine: 6.7 out of 10

For the record, California scored 5.4 out of 10 on the study.
