Tara VanDerveer, the head coach of the Stanford Cardinal women's basketball team, has become the winningest NCAA basketball coach in history - with 1,203 wins.

VanDerveer surpassed Mike Krzyzewski's record of 1,202 wins with her team's victory over the Oregon State Beavers.

The 70-year-old coach, who has been with Stanford since 1985, has helped revolutionize women's basketball and has won more college basketball games than any man or woman.

VanDerveer emphasized that basketball is a team sport and that her success is not just about her, but about the collective effort of her players and staff.
