A powerful winter storm is set to hit the San Francisco Bay Area on Wednesday, marking the start of a series of storms expected to hit California over the next 10 days.

The National Weather Service has provided estimates on when heavy rain and winds will hit cities across the Bay Area.

Heavier rainfall is expected to arrive in northern Marin, Sonoma, and Napa counties by 8 a.m. Wednesday, while San Mateo, Contra Costa, and Alameda counties are expected to see strong rains between 10 a.m. and noon.

The storm is also expected to bring strong and gusty winds, which could result in downed trees and power outages.
