A new study published in the journal Obesity suggests that both regular physical activity and weekend warrior patterns can lead to weight loss.
The study, the first of its kind to examine the association between physical activity patterns and fat tissue mass, found that weekend warriors can achieve weight loss similar to those who exercise regularly as long as they meet recommended goals.
The study recommends promoting the weekend warrior pattern for individuals who struggle to meet physical activity guidelines due to time constraints.
The research, based on data from over 9,600 participants, showed that both weekend warriors and regularly active individuals had lower abdominal adiposity and other fat-related indicators compared to inactive participants.
The study emphasizes the importance of any physical activity over no activity and suggests that people should choose activities that suit their lifestyle for better health outcomes.
