Napa and Richmond are considering replacing traditional 4th of July fireworks shows with drone displays, with Napa already in talks with a drone show company.
The move comes after concerns about illegal fireworks causing fires, such as one that gutted two homes in Antioch.
Drone shows have already been successfully held in the Bay Area, including at Brentwood's 4th of July Festival and the Alameda County Fair.
