The Golden Gate Bridge toll will increase by 50 cents per year for the next five years, starting on July 1.

The decision was made by the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway & Transportation District Board of Directors to address a $220 million five-year shortfall.

The toll revenue will fund bridge operations, maintenance, and transit services, with FasTrak users paying the lowest rates.

The toll program aims to generate $139 million over the next five years, with small business owners in Redwood City expressing frustration over a project to remove street parking for cyclists on Woodside Road.
