The Eta Aquariid meteor shower, caused by debris from Halley’s Comet, is set to peak this weekend with a new moon, offering a special viewing opportunity, according to NASA.

Viewers in the Southern Hemisphere may see up to 40 meteors an hour, while those in the Northern Hemisphere can expect 10 to 20 an hour.

The best time to see the meteors is before dawn, with the meteors often appearing at the horizon, known as “Earthgrazers.”

This year’s Eta Aquariid meteor shower is predicted to be the best of the century, lasting until May 27.

Additionally, Earth will cross through Halley’s Comet orbit in October, providing another chance to witness the Orionid meteor shower.
