A spring storm in Northern California set a single-day snowfall record for the season in the Sierra Nevada, with around two feet of snow falling in some areas.
The storm also brought heavy rain to the San Francisco Bay area, causing slick roads and treacherous driving conditions.
he University of California, Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab noted the unusual snowfall in May, surpassing the previous record set in March.
Flood advisories were issued in the Bay Area, with wind gusts reaching 40 mph near San Francisco.
