The American Red Cross is working closely with state, government, emergency management and community partners to provide safe shelter, food, emotional support and other critical services to those in need in the wake of the fires in Los Angeles.

More than 200 American Red Cross workers, many of whom have been impacted by these wildfires themselves, are helping southern California residents displaced by the massive and fast-moving wildfires that have destroyed thousands of homes of all sizes. These compassionate responders are focused on making sure everyone has a safe place to stay, and no one faces this heartbreaking crisis alone.

People from all socioeconomic backgrounds are impacted by these destructive fires. For individuals and families without financial means to stay in hotels – or even travel to find an emergency shelter – the American Red Cross has launched a shelter transportation assistance program.
