A Mariachi Band brought Kobe Bryant Fans to Tears at Staple Center

More than a dozen mariachi musicians from throughout Los Angeles gathered near the Staple Center to pay Tribute to Kobe Bryant. The Mariachi members from all different bands got together Wednesday night and played together for the FIRST time to honor the 9 lives that were lost.

One of the songs they performed is a standard called “Amor Eterno” (Eternal Love) that is played to honor the dead. When that song comes on no matter how Strong and Brave you are it brings you to tears.

When my mother died 3 years ago I hired a Mariachi to play at the cemetery and no matter how hard my father and I tried we were succumbed to tears.

“Amor Eterno” was written by legendary Mexican singer / song writer Juan Gabriel. The song is a first-person account of someone mourning the loss of a loved one who passed. ... It is said he wrote the song for Rocio Durcal who lost her son in a tragic accident in Acapulco in 1974.

Here is the Original by Rocio Durcal. Get the tissue.
