"Saturday Night Live" comedian Michael Che said he's going to pay the rent for people living in a New York City public housing building where his grandmother, who died of coronavirus, lived.
He wrote on social media, it's crazy to me that residents of public housing are still expected to pay their rent when so many New Yorkers can't even work.
He said he knows his gesture is small and called on the City, Gov Andrew Cuomo, Mayor DeBlasio and Diddy to fix this.
Michael Che’s grandmother, Martha, died April 5 after contracting COVID-19.
