Daniel Hove was an Air Force veteran-turned-assistant fire chief. When he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer he was surrounded by everyone who loved him, including his 11-Year-Old Dog Gunner. In fact the Lab never left his side.
As Daniel’s condition got worse he and his dog were always cuddled up together. Gunner was incredibly loyal they were practically inseparable. During the veterans final days his dog fell ill. His this time the dog eventually fell ill during his owner’s final days.
His daughter Heather posted some pictures on her FB page where they both looked like they were ready to go. But she did not expect them to die an hour apart.
Heather believes Gunner could not live without her father, saying: “I think he chose to go with him.”
