Pharrell Williams Hit Single ‘Happy’ Was Made Out Of Sarcasm

Pharrell Williams revealed in an interview that his hit song "Happy" from the movie "Despicable Me 2" changed his worldview and made him realize he wasn't in control of his success.
Despite not being an instant hit in 2013, the song went on to win a Grammy and top the charts in 2014.
Williams shared that the sarcastic answer to a rhetorical question led to the creation of "Happy," which became a defining moment in his career.
The question was, “How do you make a song about a person who’s so happy that nothing can bring them down?” Pharrell responded with “Happy” and said, “That sarcasm became the song, and that broke me,” with his songwriting being changed forever.
He acknowledged the universe's role in the success of his other hits like "Get Lucky" and "Blurred Lines," emphasizing the idea that creativity comes from a collective library of existence.
